Second Chance?

If I have second chance to do my simulated teaching of course I will say YES. This is because my previous simulated teaching is really worse. If I have other chance I will improve my teaching. I will plan my lesson very well and be more confidence in my teaching. I will take all the positive comments that can improve my teaching. All I have to do if I have another chance is totally different style with the previous lesson. It is pity that I do not have second chance to do simulated teaching for drama class. However I will try to improve my style of teaching for the other class

improve & improvement

After doing my simulated teaching my tutor gives a lot of comments. Well, I must admit that her comments are really useful for me to improve myself in teaching. First of all I have to be well-prepared so that I can manage my style of teaching. Then, I have to spend more time to prepare my worksheets. This is important for me because I can do various activities if I spend more time prepare it. Oh my God I have to work really hard on writing. I have to practise more to write on the board. If not my future students would not be able to read what I have write on the board. Lastly, I have to learn from others. Some of my course mates doing well in their simulated teaching. So I have to learn from to improve in simulated teaching.

Weaknesses in Simulated Teaching

I have found that I still have a lot of weaknesses in my simulated teaching. The most weak point that bother my simulated teaching was I am lack of confidence especially in terms of fluency. I really need to work hard on it. Then I have to get the correct ways to use my body language because through body language it can shows my confidence in teaching. The used of body language also can help me to control the class. This is because I think I have failed to control my students even though there are some students give full attention to my lesson. Besides, I think that my worksheets is not well-planned. I must admit that my worksheets are chaos. This is may be the effect of last-minutes preparation and because of that I could not planned my worksheet very well. I could not give better worksheets for my students and the worksheets are not for their level. I have realized that I have to know students level before I create the worksheets. For the other simulated teaching I have to be more prepared. If is still doing the same thing I could not improve my style of teaching. I hope that i will improve myself for the next time and I will do better.

Simulated Teaching

Simulated teaching is one of the assignments I have to finish for drama class. Like I have done before, I have to include some activities for my simulated teaching. It is quite challenging for me because I still not used to simulated teaching. However, I have tried my best and at last I have finished my simulated teaching as well as my fellow course mates. I found that most of us doing the same activity especially for those who taught about Oedipus Rex. Most of us did about character traits. I think it is not a big problem to argue that we are doing the same activity because even though the activity is almost the same, the way of teaching is different. Then, after we finish the simulated teaching our tutor gives a lot of comments which is really useful for us as teacher to be. Last but not least, I think simulated teaching is really useful for me because it is like a practice on how to teach in class when I become a teacher in class. Simulated teaching also helps me to understand more about the play that I have to learn because we are doing the same thing in the teaching session. So I have to work hard to improve my style of teaching during simulated teaching session.

adapt & adopt

If I am going to be a teacher in the future and I am going to be a good teacher, I believe that I have to adapt and adopt the skills that I have learn in my tutorials and lectures class. This is because I found that the skills that I have learn are really useful especially the sessions with Dr. Edwin. However, I still have to furnish all the skills because it is not easy to become a good teacher. The most important thing is I have to know my future students’ level in English so that I can provide an interesting class for them. It is not easy to attract students’ attention but by doing interesting activities, I believe that I can make they feel comfortable in learning English.

HAMLET

HAMLET

Hamlet is another movie that I’ve watched together with my fellow course mates. Hamlet is adopted from Shakespeare’s play. Hamlet is about Prince of Denmark who seeks for the truth on his father murderer. His father was killed by Claudius; his own uncle who then married his mother and become the king of Denmark. Hamlet wants to seek revenge but people think that he is mad and insane. When Claudius knows that Hamlet wants to revenge on him, he tries to kill Hamlet by putting poison in Hamlet’s drink. However, the queen drinks the water. Then, Hamlet kills Claudius by using the swords that has poison on the point. The sword is actually used by Claudius to kill Hamlet. Hamlet also pours the poison drink into Claudius’s mouth. However, at the end of the movie both of them died even though the truth is revealed.

Elizabeth The Golden Age

ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE


This is the first movie I have watched this semester for EDU 3217. I have watches this movie together with all my fellow course mates. When I heard that my friends and I have to watch this play, what comes to my mind was this play must be very boring. However, I was wrong because while watching this movie I started to like the movie because of the great and interesting story line. The movie is about Elizabeth; Queen of England which is portrayed as a loving and caring queen. Even though she is a woman, she shows her ability on how to rules the country. Then, the movie becomes more interesting when it comes to the part that involved Sir Walter Raleigh. This is because the characteristics of Raleigh have changed the Queen’s character. She started to show her jealousy and weaknesses. She fall in love with Raleigh but she finds that her Bess; her favourite maid is also in love with Raleigh. The most memorable scene in this movie is when Spain wants to attack England. Elizabeth’s cousin who wants to replace her make a conspiracy with Spain to defeat England. Elizabeth joins her people to protect England and it really shows her determination as a leader of a country. For me this is a very interesting movie to watch and I am very glad to have this opportunity to watch this movie with all my friends.
